Description

Back in the days when virtual crowd-sourcing was but a speck on the digital horizon, we at Pinkeye Towers designed the ‘Lies of Wight’ anagram tea towel with input from the Isle of Wight’s word-mangling twitterati. The result was a tea towel with the names of Isle of Wight towns, villages, places of interest and attractions anagramised to make moderately amusing alternatives.

Since the early days of #Wightagrams (the Lies of Wight anagram hashtag), the Island’s county town Newport has been given the rather vulgar alternative name of WetPorn, the monks at Quarr Abbey inhabit a Babe Quarry, occupants of the tiny hamlet of Hulverstone become Vole Hunters. You get the idea.

The first two runs of 100 tea towels sold out. Due to a modicum of demand here is a further reprint. Since the first print run the design has been updated, for example, Osborne Bay – where HM Queen Victoria dipped her toes – is twisted to become A Boy’s Boner.

We’ve got another limited edition batch of 100 towels to sell. BUY ONE NOW!

(Crockery shown in photos not included – we’re hanging on to our IW souvenir plates).
